Are there discounts for students/Ph.D. candidates/developing countries? Are scholarships available?

Do you ever cancel a seminar?

We do everything possible to avoid cancelling seminars. In the rare event that your seminar is cancelled, you will get a full refund of the enrollment fee. Or, if you prefer, you can get a credit toward a future seminar.

Do you offer continuing education credit?

No, we do not.

Do you provide Certificates of Completion?

Yes, upon request.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel your registration for any seminar at least two weeks prior to the start date, you will receive a full refund (minus a $50 processing fee).

Can I purchase access to an on-demand or livestream seminar that has already ended?

No. We are unable to provide access to a seminar outside of its scheduled dates.

What is the difference between an “on-demand” and a “livestream” seminar?

A “livestream” seminar is held over 3-4 days via Zoom. Participants can join all lectures live. If you are unable to attend live, you can join any or all sessions asynchronously by viewing the recorded sessions later in the day. Videos of each session will be made available to participants for four weeks following the course.

An “on-demand” seminar is self-paced and you can learn at your own convenience. The seminars typically run for 4 weeks and include pre-recorded videos, exercises, quizzes, readings, and a dedicated discussion forum to ask the instructor questions. Each generally requires about 6-10 hours/week of work.

Livestream

I’ve never used Zoom before. What do I need to know?

Zoom is a free and very user-friendly meeting software. Instructions for joining a Zoom session are available here. You will receive a meeting link from Statistical Horizons a couple days before the course; all you need to do is click to join at the appropriate time. You’ll then enter a virtual waiting room where you will be admitted to the course. If you do not already have Zoom downloaded on your laptop or computer, you will be prompted to do so prior to joining the seminar. It only takes a few minutes to download. We suggest downloading Zoom prior to the beginning of the course.

I’ve registered; when will I receive more information about the seminar?

Roughly one week before the seminar begins, you will receive an email with any necessary course materials and instructions on joining via Zoom. Please add the @statisticalhorizons.com domain to your safe senders list to make sure you receive all emails. If you don’t receive any emails within a few days of the seminar, please check your spam folder. If nothing has been received, contact us at info@statisticalhorizons.com or give us a call at 1-610-715-0115.

I can’t attend one (or more) of the lectures live. When will I be able to access a video recording?

We will send videos of each session within 24 hours.

How long will the recordings of each session be available?

You can watch the videos of the session for 4 weeks following the course 24/7. We are not able to grant any extensions beyond this.

Where can I find the schedule for the live sessions?

The schedule for each seminar is found directly on the individual course page. The livestream seminars are typically 3 or 4 days. All of our seminars are held in U.S. Eastern time. Note that all sessions are recorded so you do not need to “attend” live.

3-day seminars typically take place Thursday-Saturday and follow this schedule:

10:00am-12:30pm ET (convert to your local time)

1:30pm-3:30pm ET

I’ve registered; how will I access the course? When will I receive more information?

If you don’t receive details by the first day, check your spam folder.
