Sri Talluri

Sri Talluri, Ph.D. is Hoagland-Metzler Endowed Professor and Professor of Supply Chain Management at Michigan State University.

Professor Talluri received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in India in 1989, followed by an M.S. in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (1992) and a Ph.D. in Production and Operations Management (1996), both from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Talluri’s research spans supply risk, buyer–supplier relationships and supply contracts, sustainable supply chains, technology management, and performance evaluation. Methodologically, his expertise includes optimization (deterministic and stochastic models), game theory, statistical/empirical methods, and data envelopment analysis. He has published more than 120 papers in leading academic journals, with his work cited over 16,500 times, and holds an h-index of 63.

Talluri was named a Fellow of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) in 2019, one of only 116 scholars recognized in the organization’s 50-year history. He also served as the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Business and Economics during 2016–2017. He is currently the Co-Editor-in-Chief of Decision Sciences Journal and a Senior Editor for IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

With over 25 years of teaching experience, Talluri has taught a wide range of undergraduate, MBA, executive MBA, and doctoral courses in supply chain management, operations management, operations research/management science, and statistics.
